BDO Get BACk Challenge 2009       Limerick  welcomes back sporting legends Greg LeMond and John Treacy to mark their achievements when they participate in a major fund raising event.  Three time tour de France winner LeMond along with World Champion and Olympic Silver medallist Treacy will join hundreds of cyclists and walkers in the fourth running of the BDO Get BACk Challenge taking place on June 27th.   John Treacy will return to the scene of one of his greatest moments when he won the 1979 World Cross Country Championships in the old Limerick racecourse.    The BDO Get BACk Challenge has raised €0.5 million in the past three years benefiting Hospice Home care programmes in the region and supporting sports activity for sporting and socially disadvantaged youth in the area. A recent grants allocation brought the number of clubs receiving support from the event to 57. The grants and sports participation programmes run through the Limerick City Sports Partnership have benefited 7,500 children over the past number of years.
